Supported Exempt Accommodation

What is Supported Exempt Accommodation?

Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA) is specialist housing designed for people who require ongoing housing-related support in addition to accommodation. Unlike traditional housing, SEA combines safe, well-managed homes with personalised support services that help residents develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently.

At Beorma Community Housing, we deliver accommodation that prioritises both quality and accountability. Every property is professionally managed, independently inspected and fully licensed where required, ensuring residents benefit from safe, compliant and well-maintained homes that meet the highest standards.

We are committed to raising standards across the sector by providing an ethical alternative to poor-quality, poorly managed accommodation. We are proud to offer housing that puts people before profit, delivering positive outcomes for residents, commissioners and local communities alike.

Housing for People Who Need More Than a Roof

At Beorma Community Housing, we believe that a home should provide far more than four walls and a roof. It should offer safety, dignity, stability and the opportunity to build a better future.

Our Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA) provides high-quality housing for people who require both a safe place to live and tailored support to help them overcome challenges, regain independence and move towards long-term, settled accommodation. Every resident is treated with compassion, respect and understanding, recognising that everyone's circumstances and journey are unique.

Whether someone is recovering from a period of homelessness, rebuilding their life after leaving prison, escaping domestic abuse or simply needs additional support to maintain a tenancy, our experienced team works alongside each resident to provide the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

Personalised Support That Makes a Difference

Every resident receives a personalised support plan, tailored to their individual circumstances, aspirations and goals. Our dedicated key workers provide regular one-to-one support and work collaboratively with partner organisations to help residents access the services they need.

Support may include:

  • Tenancy sustainment and independent living skills

  • Employment, education and training opportunities

  • Benefits and financial wellbeing guidance

  • Signpost to wellbeing support

  • Access to healthcare and specialist services

  • Community integration and social inclusion
  • Planning for move-on into permanent accommodation

Our aim is not simply to provide housing, but to empower people to rebuild their lives with confidence and independence.

Please note: While Beorma Community Housing can provide information, guidance, signposting and referrals to external organisations, we cannot guarantee access to, acceptance by, or the availability of services provided by third parties. Eligibility, availability and decisions regarding support remain with the individual service provider.

Who We Support

Our Supported Exempt Accommodation is designed for individuals who need both accommodation and additional support to achieve long-term stability.

We regularly work with people who are:

  • Experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping

  • Leaving the care system and transitioning into adulthood

  • Rebuilding their lives following release from prison

  • Escaping domestic abuse or unsafe living environments

  • Experiencing mental health challenges that require stable accommodation and ongoing support

  • Facing housing crises or other circumstances that place them at risk of homelessness

  • Working with local authorities, charities or support agencies to achieve independent living

Every referral is assessed individually to ensure we can provide the right accommodation, support and environment for each resident.

Safe, Trusted and Fully Compliant

Resident safety sits at the heart of everything we do. Every Beorma property is carefully selected, independently inspected and managed to meet all relevant regulatory and licensing requirements. We work closely with local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies to ensure our homes provide safe, secure and welcoming environments where residents can focus on moving forward.

Our commitment to quality, transparency and accountability means residents, referral partners and commissioners can have complete confidence in the homes we provide and the support we deliver.
